Single Parenting Success

In far too many instances here in America there are single parent homes.  There is nothing wrong with growing up in a single parent home, but times can get a bit tough and sacrifices will be made to keep food on the table and a roof over a child’s head.  Luckily, we have many essential programs that can help a single parent household succeed when it would otherwise fall apart.

Food Stamps are a program that the government and state sponsors to ensure that you do not go without food.  Food and water are more important than things like nice clothing and the name brand tennis shoes you see in the window at a local mall.  A single parent family does not likely have a lot of extra money coming in after paying bills and the like, so it is nice to get that extra help with essential items like milk, eggs and bread.  Because of the assistance offered with food stamps, the single parent household might be able to buy nicer things for their child such as that nice pair of tennis shoes in the window at the mall.

Most of us know a family that is a single parent household and know that the children in question do not want for anything, in fact statistics show that these children are far better adjusted to changes in society.  They are more able to think on their feet and become hard workers.  They are also more likely to be careful with money in the future.  This is not always the case, but it just goes to show that you can succeed when others already think you have lost.

Single parent homes are also just as conducive to successful children and duel parent households.  They may have a harder time making ends meet on occasion, but it is the harder times that shape us as individuals.  Whether you use the government assistance available to you or you do not, you can still raise a happy and healthy family and that is what truly matters.
